Hi, how are you??
I’m playing with the rest of the Addicted to CAS Design Team today with the fun code word Bubbles!! Have a sticky beak at my card and then pop over to the Addicted to CAS blog and see what everyone else has made.
At first I wasn’t really sure if I had any ‘bubble’ stamps but when I started to throw around some ideas, it turned out, I had heaps of bubble possibilities. … champagne bubbles, beer bubbles, fish bubbles, blowing bubbles… but in the end I couldn’t help but play with the soon to be retiring ‘Message in a bottle’ stamp set and give my cute little mermaid some bubble time.
I’m going to miss this adorable set. Make sure you snap it up now before it’s gone for good. Click HERE to see it on my Online Shop.
Have you heard? Stampin’ Up!’s Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers are so popular they’ve temporarily run out and are making more. They’ll be available again in late May AND in June you’ll be able to purchase even more exciting colours in the Stampin’ Blends range with 22 more colours being added to the range.
How I made the bubbles:
- I’ve used the Night of Navy and Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Blends Markers to colour a big swatch of Thick White Cardstock and then spent a little time blending the colours into each other.
- I then used my Stampin’ Blends Marker ‘Color Lifter’ to make lots and lots of different sized circles which formed the little bubbles background.
- Time to cut out circles with a combination of the Layering Circle Framelits through the Big Shot and Circle Punches.
I stamped my little mermaid in Memento Black ink and coloured with my Stampin’ Blends, then going over the image with Clear Wink of Stella for a little shimmer. Who doesn’t love a little shimmer right?!
On a small piece of Basic Black cardstock I’ve heat embossed using White Embossing Powder, the perfect sentiment from the ‘Bottle over‘ stamp set.
Now all the different elements are ready, I’ve adhered everything to Thick White Cardstock base.
