So my beautiful hubby bought me a camera for my birthday last week. I was gobsmacked. What a wonderful gift for a Stampin’ Up! card making addict who loves to take photos of her work. Perfect. He’s a bit sweet my man. I mean I had been dropping a few hints (ok… a LOT of hints) but who knew he was listening??!!! So now my challenge is to learn how to use it. This is my first play. What do you think?
I’ve been discovering some more sketch challenge websites. This one is called Case-ing the Catty and it’s lots of fun. Here are the rules: You can directly CASE (Copy and Share Everything) or use a sketch/layout, colour combo, embellishment, just to name a few examples, as a springboard for your own creations.
Here’s what Case-ing the Catty have said about the sketch this week: “The card features a sentiment from the SAB Simply Wonderful Stamp Set and a gorgeous yellow butterfly from the Butterflies Thinlits Dies. ”
I’ve changed up my version a little from the original found on page 17 of the Sale-A-Bration click HERE to see the Sale-A-Bration online.
Carolyn’s Stamping Tip:
- I’ve used Vellum as an overlay on my Whisper White card stock to give a delicate effect.
- Using Stazon Jet Black ink will assure you’re image stays put when stamping on vellum which isn’t porous – and it’s a bit slippery as well.
I totally love the Butterfly Thinlits Die it’s so delicate. I’ve used the die to cut out the two butterflies here in Sahara Sand and Marina Mist. Did you know you can actually purchase the Butterfly Basic Stamp set and co-ordinating Thinlit in a Bundle? It works out cheaper that way. Click HERE for Stampin’ Up! Bundles.
So I’ll be off to play more with my camera. Wish me luck… I’ll get really brave soon and take it off automatic. eeeeeekkkkk!
