Greetings from Santa – I’m in LOVE

So every now and again I REALLY fall in love with a card. Even more then normal. This was one of those times. Greetings from Santa in Blushing Bride - Australian Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Carolyn Bennie -

My littlest was home sick from school and while he was watching the ‘Cat in the hat’ (again) on tv,  I was able to sneak in a little creating.

I have to say I was totally inspired by THIS card made by an AMAZING German Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator called Jenni Pauli. Jenni has an out of this world design sense and when I saw how she had coloured her card I had to try it myself. Of course I’ve changed it up a bit and made it my own but I so appreciate Jenni’s original idea.

Gosh I was so chuffed with the outcome. I can see I’ll be exploring this idea again in the not to distant future.

Some Tips on how I made this card:

  1. Take a piece of Shimmery White card stock and use your Sponge Brayers to add Smoky Slate from the top of the card and Blushing Bride from the bottom of the card. Don’t let the two colours quite meet in the middle – that’s what makes the white effect.
  2. Using your Embossing Buddy is key! You must apply the Embossing Buddy liberally all over the card, where ever you want to add heat embossing – otherwise it would al be a big mess as the embossing powder would stick to the already inked surface.
  3. Use the Greetings from Santa stamp set to add the sentiment (I’ve used Copper Embossing powder on top of VersaMark clear ink) and White embossing powder at the top of the card for the deer and stars.
  4. The Copper twine is delightful and with little punched out circles (I used my Fox Builder Punch) – it adds such a classy touch to this card.

This is the second play I’ve had with this Greetings from Santa bundle. It’s awesome. Have a look HERE at the Santa card I made as well. This is a great set for you this Christmas.
