All great intentions – and I was still late making and sending this birthday card for my niece Peta’s 9th birthday. I’m such a naughty card maker!! I’d love to hear your tips on getting your birthday cards in the post in good time.
In a family of all boys I adored the chance to colour a ballerina – one of the fun images from the new Stampin’ Up! stamp set Talented Trio. How much fun is it to make girls birthday cards?!! So much pink!!
I’ve used the Stampin’ Up! Watercolor paper and my Aqua Painter to colour the little girl.
TIP: Dipped your Aqua Painter into the lid of my Inkpads to pick up the ink and not put water into the Inkpad. It’s the perfect pallet.
My Niece has beautiful golden hair (just like my eldest son), so it was perfect to colour the ballerina’s hair in Tangerine Tango over a little wash of Hello Honey. To make the image pop from the page I’ve taken my Smokey Slate Stampin’ Write Marker and added shadows around the stamped image. I’ve used the Blender Pen to smudge the grey a little as well. This softens the look.
Have you seen the new Weekly deals? – Loving these Weekly Deals. I’ve even used the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper in my Ballerina card.
