Hello Lovelies!

Today I’m playing along with the Artful Stampers 102 Blog Hop – we’ve had a card layout to play with, check it out… Carolyn Bennie - Australian Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - carolynbennie.com - Stampin' Up! stamp set Picture Perfect

Usually I just LOVE a layout for inspiration but perhaps it was my mood, the weather or just plain lack of mojo but I really struggled with this one. So frustrating!!! Does this happen to you?

After much playing around I finally feel happy with this card but there was a lot of sighing and gnashing of teeth before I got there.

Call to Action! What do you think? Tell me what you think in the comments:

  1. Do you use card layouts to make your cards?
  2. What do you think of my card? Does it work??

I’ve used a few stamp sets and the overall effect reminds me of a classic stamp set called Fifth Avenue that has long since retired – perhaps everything old is new again?

These are the stamp sets I’ve used:

Picture Perfect #140520 (photopolymer – clear) – Such a fun set as you stamp 3 different stamped images on top of each other to get the very detailed rose. There is also a bird and starfish in this set, all with the 3 stamp layering effect.

Rose Wonder #140697 (photopolymer – clear) – Not only does it have the super large rose stamp but lots of really meaningful sayings as well.

I’ve heat embossed the large rose in the background by using Versamark watermark ink and Clear Embossing Powder and then heat setting with my Heat Gun.

I then delved into my new stash of ribbons from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalogue and found this delicious Real Red 3/4″ Stitched Edge Ribbon… ooooh I like it so much. A few black sequins to give a little bit of bling and some of the Clear Wink of stella for some shimmer on the roses.
