Team Gifts – Midnight Inkling Retreat Week

Stampin’ Up! Australia – Carolyn Bennie

I’m so grateful for my Stampin’ Up! Team the Midnight Inklings. Together we share the love of Stampin’ Up! and sharing this amazing hobby and business with others.

Once a year I hold a Team Retreat in the Adelaide Hills to celebrate the year we’ve had as a team and their accomplishments. We stamp, share lots and lots of tips for both crafting and business but most importantly get to connect and take a moment to just enjoy this life of ours.

I’m back from our annual retreat this past weekend and I have so much fun stuff to share with you. My team is jam packed with super creative ladies. I’ll be sharing some of their amazing creations over the next week and mine as well, so make sure you keep popping back in to my blog.

As we have M’inklings all over Australia not everyone could make the retreat in person and I didn’t want them to feel left out, so I made sure I shared our ‘Retreat Wow Tutorials’ that some of our Demonstrators did on our Team Facebook Forum with live videos. Technology sure helps bring people together. 🙂

I like to make gifts for the group and this year I happened upon this fab idea – Gratitude Stones.

I’ve bought some white stones from the garden shop and stamped on each with Black Stayzon Ink. I’ve lightly gone over the top of the Black Stayzon with a little clear Modge Podge just to make sure the ink lasts for good.

I’ve selected these small stamps from a number of different Stampin’ Up! sets… but they included a heart, moon (perfect for a team called Midnight Inklings), a bee, a bug and a leaf. You can really stamp on so many more things then just paper.

I had a big sheet of burlap cloth that I cut up into rectangles and heat gunned the sides to make a long pouch. I then heat gunned a little bit of our Very Vanilla Lace Trim #141672 on the front,  a little Very Vanilla Leaf cut from the Flourish Thinlits #141478  and finished it off with Vanilla & Crumbcake ribbon to hold all the stones inside the pouch.

Inside went this little note.

This idea and the poem I found on this website

We played a great ‘getting to know you’ game where we all started with 5 of the same stones and had to move around the room chatting to our other Retreat M’inklings saying things about Stampin’ Up! which make us grateful and swapping stones until we all had 5 different stones for our pouches.

What a wonderful way to start our weekend together being grateful, sharing and happy.
